Meet Our Director
Brittany Brown is the director of Kids Rock Cancer at Maryville University of St. Louis, an innovative program that helps children successfully cope with the unique emotional challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis through the healing power of music therapy.
Brittany earned a bachelor’s degree in business, with a concentration in marketing, at Saint Louis University in 2012. She began her career as a development and special events intern with SLU’s athletics department and was also a sponsorship intern for Live Nation St. Louis. Upon graduation, Brittany accepted a full-time position as a sponsorship coordinator with Live Nation, where she helped secure a partnership with Hollywood Casino and facilitate the transition from Verizon Wireless Amphitheater to Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre. After two years, Brittany took a position with the Saint Louis Science Center as manager of sponsorship and promotions, and was instrumental in the fundraising for and opening of the GROW exhibit, along with fundraising for the Baxter Robot.
With an ultimate goal to work in higher education, Brittany joined Maryville University’s Office of Institutional Advancement in October 2016 as a development specialist. In February 2018 she was promoted to assistant director of development, and in July 2018 she was promoted to her current position.
Brittany has served as a judge for the Parkway Spark! Incubator Pitch Competition, and as a volunteer and young friend for the following organizations: Do the Right Thing St. Louis, The Little Bit Foundation, Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and Kids Rock Cancer’s Club Rock. In 2018, she graduated from Leadership Chesterfield through the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, exploring new restaurants and listening to live music.
