Kids Rock Cancer is excited to announce its official expansion and new partnership with the Cardinals Kids Cancer Center at Mercy Children’s Hospital!
Located in the David C. Pratt Cancer Center, this St. Louis Cardinals-themed outpatient pediatric and oncology treatment facility provides more than 4,000 treatments to pediatric patients each year.
Kids Rock Cancer is thrilled to expand its programming into the center with the help of Mercy and its staff. The Cardinals Kids Cancer Center offers a beautiful, creative and fun environment for songwriting sessions.
The clinic’s education specialist, Laura Hanks (MSW, LCSW) has already seen the benefits of Kids Rock Cancer firsthand.
“I am thrilled that Kids Rock Cancer is now working with our patients at Cardinals Kids Cancer Center at Mercy,” Hanks says. “The children have really enjoyed the songwriting process, and we have loved listening to the special songs they record. Thank you, Kids Rock Cancer, for providing another means to helping our patients and their siblings cope with a cancer diagnosis.”
Kids Rock Cancer therapists have already completed sessions at the site and will continue to offer these amazing music therapy opportunities to patients and families facing the challenges of cancer and blood disorders.
