The 2015 Kids Rock Cancer documentary — narrated by acclaimed broadcaster Bob Costas — has been nominated for a Mid-America Emmy in the human interest category. Numerous public television stations across the nation have already aired the documentary, which tells the story of Kids Rock Cancer’s music therapy program through interviews and footage featuring children and families who have benefited from the program.
“It is an incredible honor for the Kids Rock Cancer documentary to be nominated for an Emmy,” says Liz Haynes, Director of Special Programs at Maryville University. “The documentary showcases the heart of Kids Rock Cancer and illustrates the enormous impact the program makes on children’s lives every day.
“We are very excited about the growing momentum as the film has been viewed by over 2 million people on PBS stations across the nation.”
