‘Happiness and Joy’

Jeremiah, 8, is a veteran Kids Rock Cancer participant.

“This spunky little boy spreads happiness wherever he goes with his smile and exuberant personality,” writes Kids Rock Cancer music therapist Tracie Sandheinrich. “So much so that he wanted to write a song to make people happy. Although Jeremiah deals with the direct effects of sickle cell disease, it doesn’t stop him from having a positive attitude.”

Jeremiah was so excited to work with Tracie again on another song (you can listen to his first song here). He wanted to focus on spreading a message to others that, even though they may be hurting, happiness can surely guide you when you’re feeling down.

Jeremiah and Tracie wrote “Happiness and Joy” while he was patiently waiting for his sister to receive a blood transfusion as part of her own sickle cell treatment.

“Jeremiah and his family have become accustomed to spending long, exhausting hours in the hospital for treatment,” Tracie writes. “But Jeremiah’s cheerfulness never ceases. He is always spreading positivity wherever he goes.

“He sings, ‘I want everyone to have happiness and joy!'”

Jeremiah’s mom captured this sweet video of him performing his song with Tracie — enjoy!
