On April 11, KRC’s dear friend Erin Bode hosted a concert to celebrate the re-release of her album Here and Now on vinyl, and also to celebrate the life of the late KRC rock star, Arianna (Ari) Dougan. KRC music therapists Tracie, Jaime and Cara performed the opening act, paying an intimate tribute to Ari. The songs they sang were originally written with Ari through therapeutic songwriting sessions. Ari had a true passion for the arts; she loved songwriting and performing her songs in the community. Because Ari composed multiple songs over her lifetime, KRC decided to help her create her very own album.
With the help of generous donors and talented producer Steve Schenkel, Ari’s dream has now come to complete fruition with the release of her album, Who I Am. Featuring Ari and special musical guests, the album includes 17 songs that showcase attributes of Ari’s spunky personality and ultimate love of life. At Ari’s personal request, the funds from album sales will go directly back to KRC so other patients can have the chance to “share their story” through music too. Watch their beautiful performance!
